We rang in the month of October by celebrating a very special birthday; momma's! It has become a family tradition to decorate for Halloween on my birthday weekend. The girls loved digging out all the old Halloween decorations and they had fun deciding where to display all the creepy ghosts, ghouls, and other undead creatures. These girls have little to no fear of anything scary, thanks in large part to their mom being such a Halloween aficionado. Elise was quite the helper this year, and she also begged me to take her to the Halloween store, "to make sure we have everything we need for a spooky Halloween", yep, her words exactly. Their reactions to the animatronic clowns and other creepy ghouls was priceless; they didn't run away or cry and instead just stared very intently and made sure to keep their distance. The also had fun trying on silly Halloween masks. So mommy's birthday was basically a Halloween-a-thon with some cake thrown in for good measure. I wouldn't have had it any other way. It was a fun day.
We had a very busy weekend full of party festivities as we celebrated both momma's and the girls neighbors friends birthday bash. Our neighbors threw the most fun birthday party ever for their son and daughter. It was a full on birthday carnival complete with games, prizes, cotton candy, hot dogs, snow cones...the works. They also did a very fun photo booth, which the girls loved. It was a fun-filled birthday weekend for all of us.
