After over a week of finding ingenious ways to escape from her crib, Elise has now graduated to a toddler bed! We had hoped to keep in her in the crib as long as possible, but she was determined to escape by any means necessary (even at the risk of getting hurt in the process). We really didn't have much of a choice, it was time. Anyway, she absolutely loves her, "big girl bed".

Admittedly, it was difficult getting her to stay put the first few nights. She had a new found sense of freedom and thought it was fun getting up over and over again. Fast forward to this week, and she only gets out of bed 2-4 times before finally falling asleep. Thank goodness the transition has gone so smoothly! We are so proud of our little independent toddler.

Friday afternoon at the park

Late Friday afternoon, Elise started getting fussy and restless, so I decided to take her on a walk to the neighborhood park. The second we got outside and started walking, she was happy and content again. She had the park all to herself and enjoyed every moment climbing, sliding, running and chasing birds. Mommy had fun kicking back and watching her enjoy her little afternoon break!

We spent last weekend doing yardwork and planting our lovely new spring flowers. Elise had fun lending a helping hand, while also enjoying playing outside in the warm sun. It has been a very rainy winter for us valley dwelling Californians, so the warmth and sunshine has been a welcome change of pace. Elise took advantage of the nice day, by brushing up on her ATV riding skills. She's becoming quite the little pro at riding her mini Dora quad!
