Elise's First Flight

Watching our plane arrive

She was so excited to ride the "big jet"

Peering out the window at the world below

Last weekend, we took Elise on her first out-of-state trip. We went to Tucson, Arizona to so she could meet her great-grandma for the very first time! While I am still working on uploading all the travel photos, I just had to post up a few photos from her very first airplane flight. She was so excited to ride on the "big jet". Once we arrived at the airport and finally got through security, she ran to the window to watch all the "big jets" take off. She was absolutely captivated by them, exclaiming, "look mommy, look daddy big jet go up-up-and-away!". Her expressions were just adorable.

Once we boarded the plane, the realities of flying with a toddler quickly set in. How on earth were we going to keep her seated for over two hours!?! At home, she rarely sits still for anything, other than her favorite cartoons, and yes believe me we were kicking ourselves for forgetting to bring a portable DVD player. Lesson learned. We did survive the first flight and she fared better than expected, up until the descent when she had trouble clearing her ears and cried for about 5 minutes in pain. On the flight home, she slept for about 40 minutes, so we avoided any ear issues, but that was only after she got an upset stomach and threw up for the first half hour of the flight. Our poor baby had a tough time on her first flights. However, on the upside she did great in Arizona and enjoyed every moment she spent with mommy, daddy, grandma, grandpa and great-grandma!

Admittedly, I have gotten WAY behind on blog posts, but with traveling, catching up on work, fighting various cold and flus and caring for our energetic little toddler, I figure it is certainly understandable.

Pointing out the "big jet!"

Excited to fly home!
